Pink!

December 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Ok, I know my title for this post is the farthest thing from original – but everything I could come up with seemed so cliche: “pretty in pink” – totally over done haha. Anyways, I just fell in LOVE when I saw this pink wedding dress made by Etsy designer Ouma.  When you were little did you ever have that one dress or skirt that you just loved to twirl in? It just twirled so beautifuly and it was so fun because it would open up and make these wavy patterns? Haha, was that just me? Well, this is the ultimate twirl dress. It would definitely pass the twirl test. Now, I know traditionally white it the color of choice for a dress, but these days uniqueness is what everyone is striving for and a pink dress is pretty unique. Some would never go the pink route – and I respect that, this is just an idea for those who want to explore other options =) Just sit back and enjoy the lovliness of these photos from the ever so fabulous Mixed Plate Blog ( I just discovered it and it is fabulous!)

Remember Shannon & Scott?!

December 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment

That fabulous couple I shot their engagement photos?? Yes, you do remember them! (if not, that is ok – check them out here) Anyways, they are 2 very good friends of mine and I had the awesome opportunity to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. And their wedding just got featured on the infamous wedding Blog Green Wedding Shoes – yippeee!!! Shannon did such a good job at making her wedding her own and adding her and Scott’s personal flair to it all – so happy to be apart of it all. She also has some great advice for brides that she shares on the post, and you can read it here:

How we met: We met when my brother’s best friend, Andy, brought Scott down to see me from school. Andy insisted that we would be totally into each other and that he could see us together. We both took that with a grain of salt, seeing that others had said that to us before. We hung out a few times after that and saw what Andy meant! Just a couple of months after our initial meeting and a few days after being officially a couple, I moved up to Seattle. Talk about timing! We grew closer over the phone and Scott eventually moved up to Seattle for the summer where we spent every day together. The rest is history! We got engaged around Christmas time on vacation in Hawaii with my family. How incredible.

Planning: Working with Amanda and In The Now gave me a spring board to make my wedding exactly what i wanted it to be like. I was able to get loads of feedback and tons of positive ideas and resources to get inspired from. It also gave me the confidence to make decisions and be equally creative through the past work I’ve done with In The Now.

Favorite memory: I’d have to say my favorite memory of the day was actually the WHOLE day, obviously. But two moments always stick out: the ceremony and our grand entrance at the reception. The ceremony was absolute perfection – it was so personal, so powerful, and so beautiful. Our grand entrance was just as special. We were introduced as husband and wife, with one of our favorite Tom Petty songs blasting in the background and the cheers of all our loved ones. It was incredible to have our two sides together for the first time celebrating with us, and boy did they know how to celebrate. The wedding was incredible and special. I want to relive it every day!

Advice: My advice for planning a wedding is to enjoy it. Enjoy your fiance, enjoy looking at venues, enjoy planning the details, enjoy making your favors, enjoy everything. It will pass by SO quickly, so grasp as much as you can! Also, have fun with making it a reflection of you – express yourself and give your guests the best experience that represents you two as a couple.

“I’ll Be My Something Blue”

December 9, 2009 · Leave a Comment

As the leaves are turning all their fall colors and tempurtures are falling as well, I am reminded how much I love this season! It was raining the other morning and as I was drinking coffee and making my “to-do” list I turned on an old episode of Friends. The show happened to be Pheobe’s Wedding – one of my favs (naturally) I love friends and I love weddings so there ya go! But this particular episode is so awesome because it reminded me not to get tied up with all the things that go wrong and how they seems to be the end of the world. While florals, centerpieces, and photos are all important – the real importance of a wedding is the joining of two people who are making a commitment to a promise to live by eachother’s side – forever. Not till things get hard. Not till they get bored or fall out of love. But forever. Even when things don’t go as planned. So take 5 minutes to watch this little clip – it is so cute. PLUS—- don’t miss when she mentions “something blue” that is quite possibly the cutest line ever haha.

What is your favorite part about weddings??

Photobooth Fun

December 7, 2009 · 1 Comment

Ok, so it isn’t too often that I get to simply participate in an event. I am not in charge of anything, I am not planning anything. No clipboard, no schedules in my hands. No only-running-on-coffee-&-chocolate kind of day. For this special wedding, my only duty was to be there for one of my best friends and bride, Aimee. Aimee and I lived together in college and were neighbors in the dorms. I just adore this girl and I was so excited to be apart of their wedding. Aimee was also featured on LA Style Unveiled as their LA Bride In The City – which is super awesome! Aimee’s wedding was completey unique to her and her husband, Troy Grover’s style and likes. I loved how they put a personal spin on everything. One of the things I love most about weddings is seeing people come together and see how they all played a role in the couples life before the wedding. Awww, here we go with the mushy stuff haha. Enough about that, lets get to the fun! You may recognize Aimee’s hubby’s name, he is a local photographer who has been getting quite a buzz lately. So naturally, there will be photos everywhere, right? They had by far the coolest photobooth ever! I say this probably because this is the first photobooth I’ve been able to partake in haha. It was so awesome because you had a clicker to set it off yourself and then you could see your image pop-up on a tv screen. This whole method made for a lot of laughs =)

Here a a few snaps of the photobooth to share!
