Unique Centerpiece Ideas

A few months ago I did a post on some floral slash elegant centerpiece ideas which were beautiful – but today I’m posting for the bride who wants something different; something truly unique and personal to her. Here are some awesome ideas!

First, we have a handmade wedding from Vermont – photography by Orchard Cove Photography (amazing!) The bride and Groom came up with the awesome idea to make booklets for table numbers and they used photos from their vacations as the book jackets (how cute!) They invited their guests to write messages, draw pictures, leave advice, etc in the books during times when they weren’t eating, chatting, or dancing. And what a keepsake for the couple afterwards!?

And for the country chic bride here is another creative way to spice up your centerpieces – use a cowboy boot! I know, that may sound silly, but check out this look with vintage boots that have been painted to fit the wedding theme – LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Because I know there are couples out there who have gone through amazing obstacles just to be together. There are couples who are struggling financially and could use a break. There are couples who have done so much good for others, it’s about time they had something done for them. That’s why. And I want to hear all about it.

Please email us your story & a picture or two by November 12th, 2009. Entries should be emailed to both amanda {at} ruffledblog.com and caroline {at} carolineghetes.com.

The deserving couple will receive:

Unlimited wedding day coverage
20-25 faves blogged within 1 week
400-600 professional 4×6 prints
CD with 400-600 high res images & release
Online viewing for 60 days

Fine Print (please read):
Wedding must take place in 2010. If I am booked on your wedding date, and you cannot change it, then you must forfeit the prize and it will be offered to the next qualifying couple. This giveaway has no cash value. Your email must be received no later than 11:59pm PST on November 12th, 2009 in order to qualify. For weddings over 150 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina, travel fees for Caroline Ghetes and her assistant will apply (hotel & car for 2 days, and depending on distance, roundtrip airfare for 2). If you are unsure what travel costs may be, please email me at caroline(at)carolineghetes.com to acquire approximate quote. Past clients or currently booked clients do not qualify for this giveaway. Family members and friends/acquaintances of Caroline Ghetes also do not qualify. Real Wedding: Tiffany & Kevin

I am just so excited to share this wedding with you guys! Tiffany and I went to school together and worked together for a year… and Kevin actually interviewed me for my first even job at Biola. How cool is that? Well, not as cool and these two are! Tiffany has such a spirit about her, it is impossible not to like her. Their wedding was at the East Lake Resort in Oregon and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  I love all the trees and the amazing detail in the arch way, the florals, and the biggest bridal party ever haha. Photography by Robert Christie Photography also take the cake on this wedding. Check out his stuff!

Grand Opening!

I am proud to announce the Grand Opening of my new Etsy shop: TastefulTatters! This has been a long time coming and I am so thankful for all the amazing people in my life who encouraged me to do this, helped me sew late at night, and allowed me to even sew in their home – you know who you are =) I am also thankful for Anthrolopologie for making beautiful necklaces that I cannot afford that initially inspired me haha. My store is basically accessories that are unique to metals and beads. I used fabrics and tshirts that I find in thrift stores along with buttons, pearls, and other randomness that I find from vintage or thirft stores. This has been such a fun experience for me all summer and I also wanted to give you a little more info. All the names of the pieces are named after female characters in some of my favorite novels. Mostly from F.S. Fitzgerald and the 20’s. Also, if you order a piece from me, I have a surprise for you when it gets delivered. I have handmade all the packaging the pieces come in and there is a small gift which I am not posting so you can have a little surprise =)

How it started: This summer I moved to a new town and had basically no friends and no job haha. One night I went to The Grove with a bunch of Andy’s friends and it was there that I started hanging out with some new girls that are absolutely fabulous. We all went into the Anthropologie while the boys were doing something far more manly =) It was there that I saw the most amazing and unique necklace I had ever seen. It was made out of fabric so I naturally thought, “self: maybe you could affoard this, it’s only made from string and fabric.” Then I saw that is was $98!! What was I thinking?…. I immediately thought, I could totally do that!

So, I did. Hahaha, I went through a few prototypes of all the items listed in the shop and have a few more designs that will be added in the next week or so. So check it out, add it to your favorites, leave some feedback, pass the link on to a friend, anything will help!
